Entered Apprentice

Last night I received my first degree in Freemasonry and am now an Entered Apprentice.  I have been waiting for this honor for almost a year and am very excited that my masonic journey has officially begun.

Although I will write about my initiation experience worry not brothers, for I will not divulge any of the secrets bestowed upon me.

As the evening progressed I came to really appreciate the mature solemnity surrounding the ritual.  This really created an atmosphere reflective of the fraternities nature and soul.  It was clear to me that the process is something taken very seriously and everything done during the process has a purpose.  Nothing throughout the evening was done in vain and us candidates were not degraded in any way.  Once the process was over the brothers all sat for dinner at the lodge.

The brothers in the lodge were very welcoming and made sure to call me brother the first chance they got.  This immediately inculcated a sense of brotherhood and fraternity in me.  They were eager to share with me what steps I should take next and constantly offered their availability to answer questions and provide guidance in my journey through the craft.

My journey has begun and I am very eager and excited to proceed in my journey, I look forward to meeting you in my travels brothers!

To anyone interested in Freemasonry, I urge you to research the fraternity.  You will find a wealth of information on the internet, most of which in my opinion is juvenile and shrouded in petty lies, however there is good accurate information as well.  I encourage you to look at and read all information that peaks your interest on the fraternity weather in uplift freemasonry or condemn it...the reason for this is I believe that it is important to be well informed before making the decision to move forward in ANY significant life decision, although I suspect that if you listen carefully you may already know in your heart if freemasonry is for you or not, I know I did.

And I begin

Well this is my very first time blogging about anything in my life. I am excited to see who will stumble upon this blog and what kind of comments I will receive from people. I am not sure that this blog will have a specific focus, but I envision blogging about topics that generate discussion easily entwined with personal happenings in my life...not to worry, I will not post anything too personal as that my be uncomfortable for both you and me.

I was inspired to begin blogging as I read other blogs concerning individuals' masonic journeys. I myself have begun this journey and am very much looking forward to spending time with freemasons all over the world, and I am looking forward to my time in the craft. I guess currently you could say that I am "knocking at the door." I have submitted a petition which has been read and favorably voted on and am scheduled to receive my first degree shortly. To say that I am excited would be a gross understatement. I find myself googling freemasonry every day and just observing images on the internet. (Not to worry friends, I have not cheated by looking at the degrees prematurely.) I look forward to doing the degree work and primarily growing morally as a man. Hopefully within the next three or four months I will be raised, but only if I am truly ready.

Well, whoever you are, if you are reading this feel free to respond in whatever way your heart desires, I look forward to this blogging business and will keep you all posted on my progress as well as new topincs that I introduce on this forum, be blessed all!
